Learning From Each Other

When we chose Jaime as our exchange student - his profile stated, "I'm a B-C student. I like hanging out with friends, rap music, and eating cheeseburgers." Immediately, I was like, he's the kid for us! He's been so fun, and he LOVES his rap music - just like me. He likes to follow the hip hop culture - just like me. So I was schooling him on American rap, and this kid did not know who Dr. Dre was. Dr - mother fucking - Dre. I was appalled. I wanted to cry for him. If you don't know Dre, you most like don't know NWA, Kendrick, Eminem, Snoop, Pac, etc, etc. So I tried to introduce him to old school hip hop, and he wasn't too interested. Yesterday, Friday, as he came out of his room ready for school, the kid is wearing a COMPTON sweatshirt. 🤦‍♀️ How do you wear a COMPTON sweatshirt and not know about the Godfathers of gangsta rap music?
